Purchasing
Adding Value to the Bottom Line
Our Purchasing organization is responsible for determining the corporate supply strategy, identifying the supply base, and negotiating price and delivery terms to assure quality for the organization. These goals apply to procurement of any item supporting a large corporate business interest. Purchasing activities may be associated with the design and manufacture of vehicles, or supporting the organization through facilities, materials and other services.

Imagine spending $90 billion every year--and wringing the best value for your customer from every dollar. In purchasing there’s ample room for talent and ingenuity, as well as for knowledge of materials, suppliers and production methods. As a purchasing professional at Ford Motor Company, you'll:
  • study ways to capture emerging market opportunities
  • select manufacturing strategies, world-class suppliers, and ways to develop new technology
  • shape Ford's make/buy decisions
  • negotiate and develop supply agreements
  • respond to market technology and design changes
  • plan the logistics of moving thousands of parts and vehicles around the world
  • evaluate current and prospective suppliers in North America, Europe and around the globe
At Ford, everyone contributes to the bottom line. Some design products. Others engineer features. You'll add value.
